Humour as a weapon against disinformation.
NAFO brings together an international online community that supports Ukraine, counters Russian propaganda and disinformation, and mobilises attention and support through humour, memes and fundraising.

North Atlantic Fella Organization.
NAFO is an international, decentralised online community of people who support Ukraine. The recognisable Fellas — Shiba Inu characters in many forms — have become the visual trademark of that community.
The tone is often absurd, sharp and humorous. Behind it lies a serious purpose: countering misleading pro-Russian narratives, amplifying reliable information and keeping support for Ukraine visible.

Not every battle takes place on the ground.
Social media are also an information front. Russian propaganda seeks to sow doubt, distort events and undermine support for Ukraine.
A major part of our NAFO activity therefore consists of online engagement: identifying and countering disinformation, sharing context, amplifying pro-Ukrainian voices and responding to propaganda with facts and typical NAFO humour.
Memes are not merely decoration. They make complex messages shareable and can strip propaganda narratives of their weight and credibility.

A Belgian touch within a global community.
The Belgium Battalion identity combines Belgian references with Ukrainian symbolism and typical NAFO culture.

Online engagement that continues beyond the screen.
Our involvement with NAFO consists of online engagement, support for selected campaigns and contacts with people committed to Ukraine.

From Tallinn to Ukraine.
These videos show the international volunteers, vehicles, long journeys and the support ultimately delivered in Ukraine. BE-84Ukraine does not organise these convoys. We support initiatives financially, and Luc occasionally takes part personally as a volunteer driver.
News, campaigns and support for Ukraine.
Accounts we follow for news, campaigns, fundraising and support for Ukraine.
A Fella can be funny and still make a difference.
NAFO shows how a loose international online community can use humour to hold attention, disrupt propaganda and connect people around support for Ukraine.
For BE-84Ukraine, this online engagement complements our fundraising and concrete support. Different forms of involvement, with the same goal: continuing to support Ukraine.
